full name;; Dostya Christina Golovnin age;; Seventeen grade;; Sophomore race;; Russian nicknames;; Dusty, Cryst sexual orientation;; As straight as a mountain road; lesbian. It's not due to any real event in her life, but she's always preferred girls for some reason. Perhaps it's because there weren't that many men available back in Kondopoga, but she simply finds he idea of 'straight' sex revolting. Boys are alright as friends, but not romance partners.
Stars we don't want to reach Scars we don't want to stitch Go where we haven't been Fly away, time machine
height;; 6' 1'' weight;; 155 hair color;; Straw blond eye color;; Blue defining features;; A small vertical scar at the larynx. pb claim;; Oksana Akinshina
Appearance;; Dostya is not a particularly large woman, always having tended more to be lithe than muscular, with long legs which match her slightly stretchy torso. She has been blessed with a harsh-angled, but pretty face, with grey eyes and thin lips. In most other regards, however, the tall young woman (standing an impressive 6'2) is completely unremarkable physically, apart from a hard to notice vertical scar on her neck where her voice box once was, about an inch long.
While it is hard to identify someone as Russian purely from observation, there are a few clues in Dostya's face (if not there, the name is a dead giveaway). For example, due to the same effect that causes snowblindness, she has exceedingly light blond hair, and considers it an insult when someone asks where he got it dyed. Of course, Russian-Scandanavian genetics have a great deal to play in this; pretty much anyone found inside the arctic circle will have blond hair unless they are of Inuit stock.

Personality;; Trustworthy
Dostya has quite a spectacular record with deserving trust; never once in her life has she let a secret she was expressly trusted with pass her lips. Obviously, now, this is impossible, but she is proud nonetheless of her ability to be a confidant. Furthermore, she has never cheated on a girlfriend, or stolen someone else’s subject of affections...well, sort of. Once they're over, and Dostya is interested, regardless of her friends, she will dive in like a vulture. Even when she could speak, it was rare for Dostya to lie; although she understands the concept, the traditional reasoning behind lying is impossible for her to fathom. Maybe it was due to an upbringing in a small town, maybe she's just strange, but the end result is that in a sort of quaint, deep south wooden cottage way, Dostya is very honest; even sometimes to a fault, although usually she can stop communicating if she feels all she will do is hurt someone's feelings.
Russian
While being Russian is not quite a personality trait, Dostya is like her country; hard and cold at times, fuzzy and comforting at others. Well, only a native would say that, but it is sort of true; to those who offend her or she simply dislikes, Dostya can be truly evil. However, she keeps a hold of her friends like a big fuzzy blanket...not always figuratively. Hugs tend to flow from Dostya. While every woman's mood fluctuates from week to week, Dostya is very much in sync with her country; in Winter and Spring she is a miserable, irritable, irascible bitch with a penchant for cutting remarks...well, written down ones, but the point is still very much the same. Then, in summer, she will be bouncy and...very much a happy person...sometimes, a little scary too, giving much relief when in autumn she winds down for the year and goes back to being a miserable sod.
Mute
Yes, Dostya is mute, for reasons better explained elsewhere. It means she is an excellent listener, and you can rely on her not to spread rumours. She can be a conversationalist, but only if she has that weird PDA thing. Coincidentally, she has become a very quick typist due to her condition and, oddly, the words ‘condition’ and ‘I’m sorry’ irritate her no end. Do not say them to Dusty if you like living. They smack of socialist fake-apologeticsm and PR management people. The way Dostya sees it, if it wasn't your fault, how could you be sorry? It's tantamount to the Jews apologising to Hitler for making a mess in his lovely concentration camps. Even 'predicament' or 'problem' will warrant you a harsh look..
Our home forever is outer space Black stars and endless seas, outer space New hope, new destinies; outer space Forever we'll be in Outer space, outer space
mother's name;; Dostya Golovnin (Snr.), 36, full-time mother father's name;; Yaroslav Golovnin, 37, furrier, woodsman, and drug baron. siblings;; Miroslav Golovnin, 11, student hometown;; Kondopoga, Russia relationship status;; Single
History;; On the 2nd February, 1993, Dostya and Yaroslav, newly married, were bored. And what do people in cold countries do when cold? Ask mommy where babies come from. A month or so early, Dostya came along. Russia is a cold, hard country, and makes cold, hard people, so her upbringing was far from smiles and laughs, but it was enjoyable in it’s way. Unfortunately, that was not to last. In 2000, Dostya’s teacher said that she simply wasn’t getting words out properly, and should visit a doctor. Dostya simply thought that it was because she was seven, and, being a precocious child, her palate was developing slowly. Really, she knew too much for her own good-that decision may have killed her if she'd stuck with it for any longer than she did. She put off telling her parents, but when a small lump begun to appear in her throat, it was unmissable. A visit to the doctor’s confirmed their worst fears. Cancer. Despite an almost silly understanding of the body, especially for her age, Dostya had never found out exactly what cancer was, and so the...difficult job of telling her fell to her general practioner.
Young children are marvellous creatures. They can take bad news without a care in the world, and apart from not being able to see her school friends, Dostya took the news very well. It was scary, of course, but she was calm. It was good for Dostya that she had decided to tell her parents, because the cancer was pre-malignant, and after she was admitted to hospital, she got on with getting better. Once chemotherapy started, though, Dostya underwent the classic change; her hair fell out, and she seemed to age about twenty years in a very bad way. Four friends she made while in hospital died before she left, and because the nearest hospital was miles from Kondopoga, beyond the reach of most people's transport. When she finally got out of hospital, still bedbound, her best friend, like a sister, came to visit her, and completely failed to recognise. That very same day, she was uplifted by the discovery odf a new companion-a loyal one, who never disagreed or ever sulked. An Alsatian she dubbed Petrov, whom she still owns. He is no longer quite as active, but is still with her, and still has that cute face with the wide eyes and the floppy tongue.
Once her hair returned, Dostya took on the tricky task of returning to school. Her old friends had moved on, and everyone else her age was six months ahead of her intellectually. While she was still precocious and insightful, it was by now means an easy job. Still, Russians dig their heels in and don't give up (Hitler found this one out to his regret), and like any young girl, she soon found a new group to join in. And so, for four years, everything was absolutely fine. She moved on to secondary school with said friends, had good results academically, took up shooting as a pasttime (mostly thanks to Yaroslav, ever the furrier), and had her first 'relationship' with a girl...which was also her first relationship ever. It just worked. It was in one of those intimate moments with a certain Romeria Kouvo that she pointed out an odd lump in her throat. This time, Dostya had not even noticed the symptoms, and going to the doctor proved fateful. This time, it was malignant, and Dostya was rushed to a hospital, and while the dreaded chemotherapy could keep the cancer from growing too quickly, it was neatly on the larynx, and therewas a chanceto remove the cancer altogether with surgery. Unfortunately, there was noone in Kondopoga qualified to do it, so some less than kosher means were used.
Yaroslav had, 'in his day', been more than a furrier; he was in an....organization of sorts, and although he no longer owed them alleigance, her still had connections and so, he, his wife, and thirteen-year-old daughter were moved, illicitly, to the U.S. and to a very, very dodgy surgeon who had both an excellent record and a conscience that fluctuated with his bank account. It was explained in a cellar-turned-surgery that if she wished to speak afterwards, Dostya would require a tracheostomy, and, being vain befitting her age, she made a descision that shewould not regret; she turned the tracheostomy down. Although there would still be a slight scar, she woudln't be able to cope with the stigmata of the hole in the throat, and the classic electronic voice from that strange box-thing. The surgery was, by some miracle, without complications or infections, and through a very corrupt official, the Golovnins managed to stay inside the United States.
It was after her seventeenth birthday that Dostya and several of her friends went to Russia, where she met one of her old girlfriends. The same night, she died in Dostya's arms in a pool of blood. This triggered several months of self-harming before she pulled herself back together. And that documents her entire life to this point.
